Parties on the ballot (editors only)
How seats are worked out
1. Ward seats: the candidate with the most ward-ballot votes wins the ward.
2. Party totals: each party's ward-ballot and PR-ballot votes from every station are added together. Votes for independents and spoilt ballots are left out.
3. Quota = party votes ÷ (29 − wards won by independents) + 1, dropping fractions.
4. Round 1: each party's total ÷ quota; the whole number is its seats. Round 2: the seats still open go to the largest remainders, including parties with no round-1 seat. Equal remainders go to the party with more votes.
5. PR seats = total seats − wards won. A party that wins more wards than its share keeps them, and the other seats are recalculated with a new quota.
Until every station is in, this is a running count of the votes captured from official result slips, not a forecast. The IEC's declared result is final.
